The Workshop
Environment
Imagine
what Thoreau must have thought as he wrote his books on the shores of
a rural pond. Or what life might have been like in the early fifteen hundreds
for Leonardo da Vinci. This is the environment you will find here at Monestevole.
World reknown artists done exactly this, coming here to seek inspiration.
From Zucchero (one of Italy's most famous) to Chris Difford (of the multiplatinum
group Sueeze) to Tommy Rome (musician with songs in numerous Hollywood
films, including Ocean's 11, Me Myself and Irene and many others). Despite
our reasonably priced services the atmosphere is top of the line.

JUST FINNISHED!
The Songwriter's Workshop - September 2nd, 2007

The
main workshop space (click to enlarge).
This
expansive main room with ultra-high cielings and windows two stories high
facing the italian countryside is jaw-dropping. And there is really no
place like this we've ever seen. Heated in winter by old fashioned wooden
stoves and sunlight (really!), this space is ideal for music, yoga, dance,
etc. The door in the back leads to a beautiful country kitchen and extra
smaller rooms. The building is conveniently built 50 meters away from
the lodging as to allow the light-sleepers peace and country quiet.

Add
a grand piano and a couple artists and the space transforms into a creative
center (click photo to enlarge).

Tommy
Rome's producers workshop
Tommy Rome
working late during his spring 2007workshop at Monestevole. He recorded
many of his songs for movies like Ocean's 11, Me Myself and Irene and
upcoming Drillbit Taylor at Monestevole. Could it be the olive oil (that's
what he says)? Or could it be the views from the studio (that's what we
think...see
photos)

VSP
Workshops - Late Summer
VSP is happy to host one of its famous "Creative Seeing" Photography Workshops
in the photogenic surrounding of Monestevole. The course tackles
the fundamentals of photography and discusses why some photographs
are more or less successful than others, and helps develop techniques
for seeing great shots and making them a reality. The workshop is
led by VSP founder Jonathan Maher and conducted mainly in the field, visiting
the stunning towns of Umbria, its emerald landscape and medieval events.
Each day is concluded with a group review session in an area of Monestevole
especially dedicated for reviewing images . For further details,
